Privacy policy
Fixslip is a job card app for computer repair shops. This page explains what information the app handles, where it is kept, and the choices you have. Fixslip has no server of its own: we, the developer, never receive your shop's records. We don't ask you to create an account with us, and we don't sell personal information.
Shop records on your phone
The jobs you enter are stored only on your device: customer names and phone numbers, device details and serial numbers, problems, condition checklists, notes, estimates, payments, parts, warranty, signatures, and photos you take of devices and (optionally) of a customer's ID proof. Your shop profile (name, phone, address, GST number, terms) is stored there too. As the shop, you decide what to record about your customers and are responsible for having their agreement to do so.
Device passwords, PINs and pattern locks you enter are encrypted with Android's secure storage on your phone only. They are never included in backups, PDFs or Google Drive, and they are deleted when the job is delivered.
Camera and photos
Fixslip uses the camera, or photos you pick from your gallery, only when you choose to add a photo to a job or scan a serial-number barcode. Barcodes are read on the phone. Photos are resized and stamped with the job number and time on the phone.
Google Drive (optional)
If you connect Google Drive, Fixslip signs in with your Google account and asks for the drive.file permission, which lets the app see and manage only the files it creates. It then uploads job photos to a "Fixslip" folder in your own Drive and saves a copy of your job database there once a day (one copy per weekday, so the last seven days are kept). Restoring on a new phone downloads that copy. These files go directly between your phone and Google; they are not sent to us. The app reads your Google account email only to show which Drive is connected.
Fixslip's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. That information is used only to provide the backup and restore features you see in the app, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with anyone else. You can disconnect in Settings, and remove access at any time from your Google account's third-party connections page. Files already in your Drive stay there until you delete them.
Sharing you start
When you share a receipt, delivery report, CSV export or message, Fixslip hands it to the app you pick (for example WhatsApp, Gmail or a printer). What happens next is governed by that app.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Fixslip is free and shows optional rewarded videos and occasional full-screen ads after a job is saved or delivered, through Google AdMob. Ads never appear while you are logging a device in. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers,
- approximate location derived from your IP address,
- information about how you interact with ads, and basic device and app information.
AdMob does not receive your shop's job records. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice in Settings > Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
No analytics
The app and this website use no analytics service. We do not track which screens you open or what you enter.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Fixslip reminds you when a repaired device has been ready but not collected for a few days. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and need no internet connection or server. Change or turn them off in Settings or in Android's notification settings.
This website
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard request logs (such as IP address) to serve and protect the site. The video on the home page loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only after you press play; YouTube may then set cookies under Google's policies. The site sets no cookies of its own.
Children
Fixslip is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security and retention
Records stay on your phone until you delete a job, clear the app's storage or uninstall it. Drive files stay in your Drive until you delete them. Connections to Google Drive and to Google's advertising services are encrypted.
Your choices
- Delete a job from its menu (owner PIN if set), or all data by clearing the app's storage.
- Disconnect Google Drive in Settings, and delete the Fixslip folder from your Drive.
- Change ad consent in Settings > Ad privacy choices (where offered) and reset your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Turn off pickup reminders in Settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
